logo A little bit about Lean on Me....Lean on Me Breast Cancer Network Inc. was established as a non-profit organization in May of 2000 by Dr. Dwight De Risi, Donna De Risi, Sharon Pape, Ursula Thall, and Gerry Accardo. It's goal was to provide one to one peer support for women and men diagnosed with breast cancer by pairing them with volunteer survivors from among the patients of each of our three chapters individual physician's practices. We have over seventy volunteers who have helped thousands of patients. We also have a weekly support group with a social worker, bi-annual breast cancer updates which includes Highligts from the Miami Breast Cancer meeting, and serenity wellness seminars. We also provide patient information kits, necessities bags, wigs, post surgical bras and fittings, all "free of charge." Our fund raisers allowing us to provide these free services are our annual gala dinner dance held in May of each year, and our 5K Walk & Talk at Bethpage State Park on the last Saturday of September each year.
